a. Recode the 'v12' variable (frequency of talking about the media) to 'v12rec' with three equal categories (1-3; 4-6; 7-9), where 1 = not much, 2 = sometimes, and 3 = often. Add value labels. Compare your syntax with the correct syntax below.
b. What is the level of measurement of the 'v8' (frequency of watching television) and 'v12her' variables?
c. Is there a symmetrical association or an asymmetrical association?
d. Which null hypothesis is being tested here?
e. Are the conditions of the test met?
f. What solution can you think of to meet the conditions of the test?
g. Conduct the analyses anyway, and interpret the most suitable measure of association.
